Ashkenaz Synagogue & Neve Shalom
Istanbul's Sephardic Jewish community dates from 1492 and even earlier but this, the Ashkenazi Synagogue, served the community of European Jews.It's a great old building, but because of security concerns, you can't get inside without clearance from Turkey's Grand Rabbinate, a few blocks away in Beyoglu near Tünel Square.
Neve Shalom t
owards the end of the 1930's the jewish population on the district of Pera and Galata increased so much that the need for a new synagogue became imminent.
Ahrida Synagogue
A glorious example of the rich cultural life of Turkish Jews, the Ahrida has its rightful place among major synagogues of the world.The oldest of Istanbul's 16 synagogues in use today, located in the neighborhood of Balat (Istanbul), the Ahrida dates from the early 15th century.

Etz-Ahayim Synagogue
Becoming an appropriate residential for the Jewsih people who settled there after the great bedesten( bazaar) fire in 1618, Ortaköy where Jewish people already had lived from the ancient times, formed a model of harmony with three celestial religion performed in the mosque, synagogue and church located at a triangular area.

Galata Tower
Built on the site of an older tower in the 14th-15th centuries, the Galata Tower offers the best view of the Golden Horn, Old Istanbul, the entrance to the Bosphorus and the Asian shore. Originally known as the Tower of Christ.
The tower was erected to observe the port and the city, and after being used for various purposes over the centuries, it has now reassumed its original function of watch tower - this time to enjoy the view.
